Confirming a Segment

Once you have entered your translation into the target field or edited the pre-translated segment, click on the Translated button to confirm the translation and move to the next segment. You can also use the keyboard shortcut keyboard shortcut CTRL+Enter.

If you want to confirm the translation of the current segment and move on to the next untranslated segment, click on the T+>> button or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+SHIFT+Enter.

The segment status bar colour on the right will change from white to blue. In this way you save the segment and update the translation memory. If you do not click on the Translated button, and move manually on to the next (or press CTRL+Down) or to the previous (or press CTRL+Up) segment, your translation will be saved in the file but the translation memory will not be updated. In this case, the status bar will become striped.

The segment status bar on the right changes its colour depending on the action undertaken in the segment. Click on it to display the following options and to set/change the status of a segment:

Where necessary, click on the 2015-11-11 09-59-32 (1)  button to copy the source text to the target segment and edit or directly confirm the segment by clicking on either T+>> or TRANSLATED. If you copy source to target three times in the same job, a pop up window as below will be displayed.


You have three options:

  • select the confirmation checkbox and click on Yes in order to accept to copy source to target (the entire source content will populate the target segments);
  • refuse to copy source to target by clicking on No (the pop up window will be closed and will reappear after three new copy source to target);
  • refuse to copy source to target by clicking on No and select the checkbox “Don’t show…” (the pop up window will not be shown again for the rest of the current job, but will appear again in new jobs).
